Poe M. Allphin is a PhD student in musicology at the CUNY Graduate Center. He is currently working on a book about trans involvement in the U.S. women’s music movement of the 70s-90s. Poe is also interested in the intersections between disability, gender, and voice. His academic and creative work has been published in Transgender Studies Quarterly and the Anthology of New Music: Trans & Nonbinary Voices, Vol. 1. He is also on the board of QORDS, a band camp for queer youth. Poe holds a B.A. from Smith College and an M.M. in music theory from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
